Timeline

Saw first concert. Kiss and Judas Priest. Other than Gene Simmons “flying” over the half empty arena, all I remember is crying a lot and eventually getting very sick. (In hindsight, I was a little young too appreciate it. But as you will see, I’ll get another chance.)

Started playing drums. First time I ever sat down at a kit, I was able to play a solid rock beat. (Oddly, despite years of private teaching and and eventually minoring in music performance with a concentration on drums, I never got much better than that first day I rocked out. There’s a lesson in there somewhere.)

Formed what would eventually become The Dent. First gig was at a middle school dance. (Performed such dance staples as The Spirit of Radio by Rush and of course a handful of crowd-pleasing originals.)

The Dent broke up and we went our separate ways. (College)

With our separate ways providing us no success, The Dent re-formed. (Graduated)

Saw Kiss on their first reunion tour – with make up. Redemption.

After many brushes with big time opportunity but no real breaks, The Dent got all bummed out and sick of each other and broke up.

You guessed it? The Dent got back together and released the EP “Neurotica.” (Appropriate name, huh?) The album was very well received and elevated us to a whole new level both with fans and the industry. We quickly followed up with the prophetically titled full length “Farewell.”

On the heals of 2 successful releases, we did what any band on their way up would do: we toured, and then broke up.

Jeff Norberg and I (2/3 of The Dent) put out an album as The Day Traders, produced by Saul Zonana. The album got great reviews in the pop press and scored us a whole new following. So naturally, we broke up.

Later that year, I released my first solo album.

Struck up a partnership (and friendship) with industry veteran and guru Eugene Foley and “signed” an artist management contract with Foley Entertainment.

With no one left to break up with, I went and released another solo album entitled “Learn How to Love.”
